Pin like a boss: The best ways to market on Pinterest

Have you ever come across images on the internet, say quotes, dresses, puppies, anything, and you just want to keep it and show it to everyone else? You would most probably save that on your mobile devices or in a folder on your desktop. You'll probably want to turn that in your wallpaper soon so that your friends could see it. And if you've got a lot, you'll put a slideshow widget to show the more. But the images won't get that far, won't it? Sooner and later, you'll be forced to delete it since you've grown tired viewing it on your home screen and then some time later, you'll start digging the internet for that picture. I feel ya! I've been there. Well, this is probably the reason why folks created the wonderful world of pinterest!

Pinterest is that red dot logo with a letter P in it that, well you guess it, looks like a pin. Believe it or not, its a social media website. Well, it works a lot like Tumblr, but I'd say Pinterest is more powerful in terms of traffic. What pinterest does is upload an image and takes you to the source of that image you've just uploaded, causing an increase of traffic in your website. What I like about the pin-site is that it gives me exactly what I want. Pinterset caters a powerful SEO drive, making it easy to find what you're looking for.

So you've figured that you should use Pinterest to increase traffic in your website. Well I'd say it's about time. But before you go advertising your business on the social media-ish platform, just like any other, you've got to know the best ways how to market there like a boss. As always, I'll be giving a few tips and tricks to do the job!

Upload all the catchy images from your website/blog

Of course, the first thing you've got to do is to create your own account. And yes, you can start by uploading some of the most eye-catching image ads from your website or blog.

You can choose from syncing your website in a board or manually uploading your images and linking it to your website

Showcase your products with graphics and words of "Interest"

If you're a website and you're selling products, give it a nice graphic design. Audiences in Pinterest are like cars in the highway, so place them in a way you want to see it on highway billboards. Write a catchy but precise Board name and a keyword friendly description board .

If you're a blog, make it easy for readers to find you by placing your header on a separate board. Create a title that can help your readers find what they're looking for or show interest.

Don't just pin what's yours. Have fun!

That's right! Don't miss out what pinterest has to offer. You can find a lot of things in here. Like twitter, people don't want to follow profiles who are just full of their blogs and website. They love following profiles which they can have fun or relate to. Make some humor boards, fashion boards, article boards, any boards that your audience would find interesting. Because, well, that's what pinterest is actually all about - Interest, duh!

Organize your board

When people stubmle upon your profile with all the relateble pins you have, the best thing that they should see are your, you've guessed, showcases. People engagement in Pinterest is like meeting friends for the first time. You say something funny, and once they're comfortable with you, you'll start opening yourself up to them. Organize your boards by dragging what your website or blog has, then the last ones can be those relateble, funny and fashionable boards.

Make the most powerful words!

Finally, when uploading your images, make sure the file name is SEO friendly as well. I heard that pinterest can use the original file name of the images, so make sure you've rename them before posting them on your boards.

Write a keyword-rich description too. This would surely enhance the possibilities of audiences finding your pins in Pinterest. Make sure the image is linked to your website as well. You're description will also be the first comment that everyone would see no matter who repins it, so make it as catchy as possible.

So far, although I don't have that many followers, Pinterest is one of the social media platforms that aggressively refers my website and increases the traffic that I really need. So don't go sitting around, make you pinterest account!

P.S. Before I forget, if you're going to sign up for pinterest, it would take about 3 to 5 days for you to get yourself started so be as patient as possible. Why do they do this? I have no idea.
