Top 5 Blog Topics that you should be writing about

Want to start your own blog? Running out of Topics to blog about? Well, with that said, one of those has got to be the reason why you're reading this, and I've got just about the right list for you to start blogging about.

Of course, these are not just suggestions based on my liking. I’ve asked a few bloggers on twitter, facebook and their own blogs themselves on how much traffic they’re earning and how often readers comment positively about their blog posts on that particular topic. We don’t to blog about anything out there with no direction. We’d waste time… a lot of time.

So without further ado, here are the top five blog topics that you could get started:

1. Fashion and lifestyle

It's been years since we've known for a fact that there are a lot more women than men in this whole wide world. And the fact that girls like dressing up or looking good is one of the main reasons why you should be blogging about fashion and girly lifestyle. Girls who are already reaching puberty need to read something that welcomes them and guides them to the fabulous life of womanhood, and it'd be great if your blog would be their guardian angel.

But don't just go on writing about the latest trends, make-up, diet tips and so on. Make sure you're a model of what you're blogging. If you're thin and flat, write a blog about the best clothes that fits your body; you're not the only thin girl out there. If you have short hair, write a blog about the best short-haired hairstyles you could come up with; you're not the only girl who regretted having a hair cut.

2. Travel

Well, you could only blog about this if you're as rich as Richie Rich, but that doesn't mean you don't have to. Travel blogs are roaring with traffic nowadays since, well, tourists would want to visit a lot of places in the world. So it happens that only a handful of people get to travel to places and blog about it.

If you get the chance to travel somewhere, you should definitely not miss the chance to blog about it. Eventually, someone would want to go there and find out how to get there. You could place a travel category in your blog since we all know we don’t travel as often much unless of course it’s your job. Place all your adventures under that category when you get to have a chance. If you can’t wait to get started, then you could get right on it by blogging about the nearest malls, parks or stadiums in your town.

Take some photos – readers would want to have a sneak peek of what they expect to see. Recommend the most delicious and affordable restaurants, cheapest and tidiest hotels and inns, friendly and varied souvenir stores, and safest and fastest roads to get there. Tour the people around, but don't spoil them too much. Teach a bit of history about the monuments, places and landmarks you'll come across. And of course, don’t forget to have fun. Readers can see through words, whether you’re enjoying yourself or not and they wouldn’t want to try whatever you did or where you went if you yourself didn’t enjoy it. Everyone loves a good quest story after all.

3. Reviews

People won’t try something new if they haven’t heard anyone tried it first – this is where you’d come in. Review blogs can be fun since you can start by reviewing your favorite movies, tv shows, books, the gadgets that you have and so on. Though it’s going to get crazier once you’ve got a lot of content already since you are bound to try something new to keep it going. If not and your readers find your writing method to be appealing, then you’re going to have to take the risk on trying what they suggest – which is a 50-50 that you might not like the experience.

Although, review blogs would have to be one of those kind that can get you interact with your audience since they would be asking a lot of questions about your post (Pretty much the same goes for travel blogs). If you’re going to start your review post, it would be best to link it to your social media accounts. Keep them active, of course, since readers might comment or ask a question on whichever social media platform you’ve shared your post. But of course, it would only get crazy like that once you’ve got a lot of content. These kinds of blogs are those that needs to be active, especially if it’s a review blog about gadgets. There are a lot of “new things” sprouting all over the place all the time.

4. How-to:

We’re all aware that school didn’t get to teach us the most important things we need once we get to some point (Well, such as shaving, using an ATM, or even filing your taxes). It’s a good thing the internet is right there to teach you all these stuffs. Oh wait, I’ve forgotten that what the internet does is just refer you to how-to blogs. Well, guess that’s where you come in.

Tutorials, DIYs, and how-to blogs are booming with readers out there. I mean, come on, how else did you think wikihow got all of those traffic in just a pinch of hours. Everyone is looking for instructions, manuals and procedures 24/7 in the world.

Blog something you know very well how to do, is tells exactly what the contents have, and of course has a creative mixture of title, such as “How to kill a spider without screaming like a girl” – you could also start you how-to blog with that topic, that is of course if you know how to kill a spider without screaming like a girl.

5. Corporate blogs

People in the corporate world love to read because, well, there’s nothing better to do when you’re doing nothing in the office. If you know you have a very professional charisma in the workplace, then you could get right started on this one. Popular topics on corporate blogs are more on about leadership, employee relationship, stress, productivity, and interviews so maybe you could start with that.

But be careful how you write posts under this category. Corporate folks are very particular with words and they don’t like dilly-dally ones. You could still put a little bit of humor, though, but you’ve just got to make sure you would express it right without offending anybody or using anything that needs to be censored. Plus, if you’re going to start with this kind of blog, it would be best to promote your post on Linkedin – there are a lot of corporate readers in there and you would most likely get positive comments and shares on that platform.

So if you’re going to get right started on your blog, make sure to leave a link in the comment box. I’d be more than happy to read yours. I might learn something from you too, you know.
